The Opportunity
The Business Performance team works to create and foster a culture of sustainable continuous improvement through the integration of the Lean Six Sigma methodologies into City processes. Internal Audit is an independent and objective assurance and advisory function established to add value and improve City operations. Internal Audit brings a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of the organization’s governance, risk management, and internal control processes. Together, Business Performance and Internal Audit work to improve operations across the City by reducing waste, adding value, and protecting assets.
Under the general guidance and direction of the Director of Internal Audit, the Business Performance Coordinator is responsible for the planning and execution of small projects or assigned phases of projects, which may include initiation, planning, execution, control, or closure phases of projects. Specifically, this position monitors project costs, manages project schedules, assists in procuring resources, assesses risks, and repairs issues to ensure optimal success of the projects. Additionally, this position liaises between internal and external project teams, stakeholders to ensure completion of project deliverables. Overall, this position plays an integral role in coordinating projects that enhance service delivery to meet the City's growing needs.

Education (degree/diploma/certifications)
- Three (3) year University Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, English, Economics, Psychology, Sociology, Interdisciplinary Studies, or related discipline

Experience
- Three (3) years of experience performing duties related to the major responsibilities of the position
- Demonstrated experience coordinating an entire project or a portion of a project
Knowledge/Skill/Ability
- Working knowledge of the following principles and standards: administrative processes and protocol; customer/public relations principles; records management practices; research resources and practices
- Demonstrated Ability to:
- coordinate simultaneous projects
- develop, promote, and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- exercise discretion and judgment when handling confidential, sensitive, and controversial information
- interact effectively and courteously with all levels of staff and contacts in a political and community/client service environment
- maintain a high standard of public relations at all times
- perform in a manner which is consistent with corporate goals, vision, mission, and values
- work independently with minimal supervision

- Intermediate computer literacy using the following systems and software: Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Word), Microsoft Project, Microsoft Project Server, Microsoft Visio, Adobe Acrobat, and the Internet
- Availability, as assigned, to assist with after-hours questions, concerns, or emergencies; to attend evening/weekend meetings or special events; or to work outside of designated normal hours per week

Location: City Hall, 70 Collier Street, Barrie, Ontario*
*Please note that the City has a Hybrid Work Program Policy in place that may allow a hybrid work arrangement of one (1) remote day per week for employees who meet eligibility requirements
Hours: The normal hours of work are 35 hours per week in accordance with the Collective Agreement
Wage: This position is within the CUPE Local 2380 Bargaining Unit with the following pay level and 2026 pay range:
- Pay Level: Level 7
- Yearly Salary: $71,635.20 to $85,876.60
- Hourly Pay Rate: $39.36 to $47.18
